2. Working Pressure 

The Viega press connector system with SC-Contur enables detection of unpressed connections, as they become visibly leaky when the system is filled. Viega guarantees detection of unpressed connections within the following pressure ranges:

Test medium: Water

• Minimum pressure: 0.1 MPa (100 kPa / 1 bar / 14.5 PSI)
• Maximum pressure: 0.65 MPa (650 kPa / 6.5 bar / 94.3 PSI)

Test medium: Air

• Minimum pressure: 22 hPa (2.2 kPa / 22 mbar / 0.3 PSI)
• Maximum pressure: 0.3 MPa (300 kPa / 3 bar / 43.5 PSI)

The Temponox press connector system is designed for nominal pressure PN 16.

Connectors: d15–54 and 76.1–108.0mm

Pipes: d15–54 and 64.0–108.0mm

4. Piping Applications

The Temponox press connector system is suitable for:

• Closed cooling and heating systems
• Compressed air systems
• Solar installations with flat collectors
• Solar installations with vacuum collectors (only with FKM sealing element)
• Industrial applications

Note: System components should be protected against high chloride concentrations originating from the medium and/or external factors. Use for applications/media other than those described must be agreed in consultation with Viega.

5. Standards

Press connector system (press connectors and pipes) in accordance with DIN EN 10088-2 and DIN EN 10312.

For heating system applications, observe VDI 2035 and DIN EN 12828.

6. Operating Temperature Conditions

With EPDM sealing element, the Temponox press connector system can be used under the following operating parameters:

• Heating systems in accordance with DIN EN 12828
• Maximum operating temperature: 105°C (221°F)
